National museum Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania – historical residence format museum, in which historical and archeological values are collected, preserved, studied, conserved and renewed. The main museum goals are – present to the public Lithuanian state and it’s rulers historical and cultural heritage, unique archeological and Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and applied fine art collections, valuable lithuanistic material, as well, pursue an active educational, cultural, touristic information dissemination activities, carry out state ceremonial events.
