The museum is located at the picturesque Nemunas River about 80 km from Vilnius. It is a big picturesque park with old rural buildings which introduce with the traditional lifestyle and folk traditions in Lithuania from ~18th – 20th centuries. The museum's exposition is divided into four ethnographic regions Aukstaitija, Zemaitija, Suvalkija and Dzukija. Traditional buildings show the characteristic features of the rural architecture of each region. You can enter any house and see with your own eyes how people lived hundred years ago. Authentic furniture, crockery, kitchen articles, tools are at display.
During the visit you will see local craftsmen were working making clay pots, processing amber, wood, metal, weaving etc.
After the tour enjoy picnic by a picturesque lake or traditional lunch and local beer in local tavern together with folk show - songs, dances and games.
